In 1813, when slavery was prohibited in Argentina, that is, the Afro that entered Argentina was free, as were those born to slave women, therefore slavery and Afros in Argentina ceased to be a business, the owners transferred them and /or they sold to Brazil, which until the end of the 19th century continued with slavery, in addition to Equatorial Guinea, Uruguay and the SW of Brazil, which was from the viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata, had the majority of Afro-descendants. THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ARGENTINA

First we all descend from the first humans, who were from Africa, sorry. Secondly, in 1813 slavery was prohibited in Argentina and children born to Argentine slaves were also free, therefore slavery stopped being a business in Argentina at least 50 years earlier than in the USA or Brazil. Third, Argentina won the Olympic gold medal in basketball without a black man against NBA players and they didn't say anything. Fourthly, the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata encompassed not only Argentina, but also northern Chile, part of southeastern Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Equatorial Guinea and part of southwestern Brazil, since the majority Afro was in the viceroyalty. in the coastal territories of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Equatorial Guinea, that is, use your brain please and stop saying idiotic things, the problem in Argentina today is not racism, nor religious, it is ideological politics, it's just that racism is a problem. of North American society who do not understand that there are only Americans and no Mexican-Americans, no African-Americans, only Americans, etc. Treat yourself psychologically, here we do it AMERICAN HUGS

Sister Melissa speaks toy heart. I live in Southern California in a large community of Iraqi immigrants whose contemporaries to my husband and my age, 70's speak Arabic and very little English. We have a small and growing group interested in the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as they mostly are Chaldean Catholic Christians. Early 2000's we began to have Elders, two sets of companionships called to serve in our ward! These young men all had some little or more extensive Arabic experiences prior to being called and Assigned to our Hillsdale Ward El Cajon Stake. Over time we have had sister missionaries also with extensive or little experience speaking Arabic and their middle eastern culture, challenges with brutality and violence losing family members, living in immigration camps and then Michigan and El Cajon California. So different from our respective childhood and adult experiences here in So Cal. Also Samolians from Africa, now too. LGBTQ+, Mexicans, Asian, Black Americans and homeless veterans and the very poor for various reasons pills at our heart strings to serve, to fellowship, see them as Christ sees them. Children of His and Our Heavenly Father. Being friendly, equal in our interaction, encouraging the Ward Family to follow suit and cease to find association within the same ol' same old friends. Love one another as I have 😍 ved you. Key doctrine: by this shall men see that ye are my disciples. Disciples who practice and live inclusion. Study nations, kindreds, languages and peoples.

You are wrong about your impression of China. China is a bully..but only bullies small countries like Philippines , Taiwan and vietnam .China will lie , accused Philippines of provoking when they are in your backyard stealing, destroying your garden.. claiming " it is you who is stealing. " and punish you with water canons , lasers etc. .callimg you a threat to their regime. ! China bought big Countries leaderships donated large amount ,gifts to their political leaders, universities... China has their own agenda and ambition, to dominate , and to own , to expand their territories.with no respect to your sovereignity and world order .They now have money, power, and can afford wars..Unlike during Mao chedong time in the 50s when china was starving ! It's been China:s ambition to be the super power at the expense of small countries. . China causes chaos in Asia!! . Big mistake when China was allowed to join WTO and given a voting rights in UN's human rights commision . So ridiculous ! For their human rights violation is so obvious! Look at Chinas hold on Tedros last pandemic! China did not waste time , make deal with afghanistan .. bought some of modern wares left by US and started copying them.! Chinese Knew Biden's admin is weak and a failure..Never trust China, never trust Taliban .they hate Christians, US! . Yet they like to live in the Wests ?! I am well read and we'll travelled , a political science / history major too but I learned what's in the text books are only 10 % of what you need to learn. Maybe less...and not all diplomats do their home works!

One-Paragraph Summary: The article discusses the shift of Christianity's center of gravity from the Global North to the Global South, particularly Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Professor Philip Jenkins argues that the forms of Christianity thriving in these regions tend to be more traditional, charismatic, and supernaturally oriented, resonating with the lived experiences and cultures of these societies. He highlights how biblical passages and concepts like atonement, prophecy, healing, and exorcism find greater relevance and power in these contexts, shaped by realities like poverty, hunger, and belief in spiritual forces. Jenkins suggests that this "Southern" Christianity challenges liberal interpretations prevalent in the North and offers a more radical, biblical understanding of the faith. Outline: I. Introduction A. St. Vincent de Paul's prophecy about the future of Christianity B. Statistics on the growth of Christianity in the Global South II. Characteristics of Southern Christianity A. Traditional view of religious authority B. Charismatic and open to supernatural experiences C. Emphasis on healing III. Relevance of Biblical Passages and Concepts A. Old Testament's resonance with African and Asian cultures B. Atonement and blood sacrifice C. Prophecy and visions D. Poverty and the language of the belly IV. Spiritual Warfare and Exorcism A. Belief in demons and evil spirits B. Healing and deliverance ministries V. Radical and Biblical Interpretation A. Challenging liberal interpretations B. Rediscovering the radicalism of Scripture VI. Conclusion A. Southern Christianity's challenge to the Global North B. Seeing Scripture with fresh eyes Study Questions: 1. How does the lived experience of poverty and hunger in the Global South influence the way biblical passages and concepts are understood and applied? 2. In what ways do the traditional and charismatic forms of Christianity thriving in the Global South challenge the liberal interpretations prevalent in the Global North? 3. Discuss the significance of the Old Testament's resonance with African and Asian cultures, and how this impacts the understanding and application of its teachings. 4. Explain the role of spiritual warfare and deliverance ministries in the context of Southern Christianity, and how this relates to the belief in demons and evil spirits. 5. In what ways does Professor Jenkins suggest that the Global North can learn from the Global South in terms of rediscovering the radicalism of Scripture and seeing it with fresh eyes? Multiple-Choice Questions: 1. According to the article, which of the following is NOT a characteristic of Southern Christianity highlighted by Professor Jenkins? a. Traditional view of religious authority b. Emphasis on healing c. Rejection of supernatural experiences d. Charismatic and open to prophecy and visions 2. The article suggests that the Old Testament finds greater relevance in African and Asian cultures because: a. It describes a world of nomadism, polygamy, and blood sacrifice b. It is viewed as a historical document with no contemporary relevance c. It is considered more authoritative than the New Testament d. Its teachings are more compatible with modern, urban lifestyles 3. The concept of atonement through the shedding of blood resonates more powerfully in the Global South because: a. It aligns with traditional beliefs in blood sacrifice b. It is a doctrine that is easily understood and accepted c. It is a central tenet of liberal Christianity d. It is a concept that is unique to Southern Christianity 4. According to the article, which of the following is NOT a reason for the emphasis on healing and deliverance ministries in Southern Christianity? a. Belief in the existence of demons and evil spirits b. Prevalence of poverty and sickness c. Rejection of modern medical practices d. Continued relevance of biblical accounts of healing and exorcism 5. Professor Jenkins suggests that the Global North can learn from the Global South by: a. Embracing a more liberal interpretation of Scripture b. Rejecting traditional forms of religious authority c. Rediscovering the radicalism of Scripture's message d. Adopting a charismatic and emotionally expressive worship style Answers: 1. c 2. a 3. a 4. c 5. c

I loved studying here in the Jerusalem Center! Thank you to all who made it possible and those who taught there. We were with the group in 1987 that first stayed at Ramat Rachel and then moved into the partially finished building on Mt. Scopus. The scriptures came alive for us as we visited the places where they were set. My view of the Arab-Israeli conflict was informed by Profs Nazal and Galbraith and also by meeting in the homes of Palestinians, Jordanians, and Israelis. I can still count to ten in Arabic thanks to the darling kids at the orphanage, and I remember many of the words to “Jerusalem Is Not For Sale” that played on the radio there at that time. I came to know my Savior as Jehovah of the Old Testament and even more deeply during the special time we spent on the shores of the Sea of Galilee-it was there I immersed myself in the New Testament and first read James Talmage’s book “Jesus The Christ.” Looking over the old city from the center’s terraces I could imagine Christ’s lament recorded in Matthew 23 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” But I’d also be hopeful with the prophesies of Zechariah that there Christ would come again and accept His people: “And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends…. I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.“ Our friend and fellow student Merilee Jacobsen was a lovely Mary at the Garden Tomb, and that had to be my most favorite place of all. The tomb is empty. He lives! Jerusalem is a special place. There is a feeling there like no other place on Earth. Our daughter was able to study here after serving a mission in Nicaragua. It’s a wonderful transitional place to study right before or after a mission. If you or your family members have the opportunity to visit or study at this amazing center I hope you will.

Cannot lump Confucianism with Christianity or Buddhism because lacking belief in one, all-powerful, authoritarian God, or in any mystical after- life exploration. Christianity preaches Do unto others as you would others do unto you. Confucius says Do not do to others what you don't want others do to you. Two sayings with totally different implications. Taoism is the only proven complement to Confuciusnism. Even Mao is supposed to embody both, to some degree. Communism though is a relatively recent social reaction to the spread of Christianity and no doubt will disappear when Christianity disappears. (R.I.P. Thomas Paine)
